Our Story
Mom had been making wine and jelly for years when she finally had the idea of starting Indian Creek Winery, LLC (named after Indian Creek, MO where several generations of our ancestors are buried after arriving from Cartwright's Creek Settlement in Kentucky during the 1800's, after migrating from St. Mary's County in Maryland in 1787 and possibly after migrating from Salem Village in Massachusetts during the late 1600's.) We began in a tiny FEMA trailer in 2005. Mom eventually won a Bronze Medal for the Vignoles category in the 2010 Missouri Governor's Cup.
We expanded after a few years to the Robey House and continued to do well until Mom's unexpected passing in 2011. Her intelligence, expertise, energy and tenacity are gone now. She was truly the irreplaceable heart of the operation. We'll continue to honor her memory, but we are unable to continue running the winery in perpetuity and will stop making and selling wine sometime during 2013.
Thank you to all of our relatives, friends and community members who were there during her life and rallied behind us after she died.
