Beef Barley Soup

Directions: 
Mix packet with 5 cups water in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and let cook for 15 minutes. Stir frequently. Cover, remove from heat, and let steam for 5 to 10 minutes before serving. For a hearty stew, add cooked cubed roast beef or ground beef. Frozen green peas also make a good addition. Can be used as a sauce over rice. Makes over 4 cups of soup.
